THE REAL PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS

What is your life going to mean? What is the basic purpose of your life? These are questions that frequently arise in our minds. If your life is just one video game after another, what are you pursuing? Who cares if you get trophies on that video game? Who cares! You know who cares how many push-ups you can do? Who cares! Let me tell you one thing: Allah will give you happiness when you have a real pursuit, then your life means something, and when your life means something, it makes you happy. When you don't have a pursuit, you never find meaning in your life, and that's why you're never happy. No matter how much music you listen to or how much partying you do, you're just never happy, never satisfied, always bored, and always unhappy with yourself. You young people have to be people of incredible pursuit, as Allah says, 'Their efforts and pursuit will soon be seen.

Let me tell you something. When you show somebody your resume, you mention that you graduated from a school, worked here and there, and achieved this and that. But what do you put on your resume? The results! The results are the pursuits, but you don't put on your resume how hard you worked to finish that project.

Sometimes, it just happens that you put in a lot of effort but don't pass, or you put an incredible amount of effort into a project and it fails, or you don't get the grade you deserve or want. As human beings, we judge each other based on results; we don't care how much effort you made if you didn't deliver the results. You didn't pass the project, so you're fired!

But Allah on Judgment Day is not looking at your report card based on results; Allah is looking at your report card based on the efforts you made. No other human being can see my efforts, and I can't see yours, and you can't see mine; only Allah sees efforts. All we see are results; we are the people of results. Allah is the Judge of efforts. Subhanallah!

Nobody will appreciate your efforts except Allah, so never underestimate your efforts because other people underestimate them.

While achieving your goals, you should be persistent, work with patience, and keep tawakkul in Allah; He is the One who sees efforts, not results.
